Jincheng, August 22 (Huanghe News Network) — The 2025 Jincheng “Danhe New City” Lin Dan Cup Badminton Open commenced at the Jincheng Workers' Cultural Palace on August 22. The Lin Dan Cup Badminton Open features three categories: Men's Singles, Mixed Team, and Youth Division. It attracted over 900 participants from 11 countries and regions, including China, Malaysia, South Korea, Indonesia, India, New Zealand, Canada, and Italy.

The men's singles champion will receive a prize of 200,000 RMB. The tournament features 64 men's singles players, who will be divided into 16 groups for a round-robin stage. The top two finishers from each group will advance to the knockout stage. Players reaching the round of 32 will compete in a single-elimination format until the new Lin Dan Cup champion is crowned.

This year's tournament boasts a star-studded lineup. Malaysia's Chan Chun Wei has previously claimed the Lin Dan Cup title twice; Zhou Zeqi triumphed at both the 2023 Chenzhou and Shenzhen tournaments; Zhang Wei Yi holds two national championship men's singles titles; South Korean badminton star Lee Dong-geun has confirmed his participation; and Malaysia's Adil, currently ranked 42nd in the world, will also compete.
